Stretch marks:

Medically it is known as "Striae Gravidarum".

When a person grows or gain the weight quickly, that person may get fine lines on his/her body, these are called stretch marks. Although human skin is fairly elastic, when it is overstretched the normal production of collagen is disturbed.

Although stretch marks are common in both women and men, women usually develop them during pregnancy.

People, who are over weight, also have the stretch marks on their body.

Here are some points that you should consider so that your stretch marks get less noticeable:

  • Sunless Tanning Treatments: Although it is one of the good options, but it doesn't work for regular tanning. You can also use the body makeup that matched up with your skin color, some manufacturer also making the water proof products, so that would be beneficial.

  • Beach suit to hide stretch marks: There are lots of different variety of suits are available in market, these are include high neck swim suit, in which you feel comfortable while you are taking sunbath on beach. It will hide the chest and upper thighs on which stretch marks are usually there.

  • Beware of unusual creams: There are lots of creams are available in the market that claims to remove the stretch marks completely, but most of them are costly and ineffective. Some of them have negative side-effects that you will want to be aware of.

Prevention and Removal:

Here are some tips to prevent the Stretch marks:

Most of the women get the stretch marks in the third trimester of the pregnancy. Here are some tips for that:

1. Massage your skin regularly: Massaging your skin regularly with message glove or moisturizer can make the difference, because through this, new tissues will grow and it helps to reduce the stretch marks.

2. Have a balance diet: It is also important that you should take the balance diet. Your diet should include: Vitamins (especially C and E), also Zinc and silica that make the skin healthy. You can also take the advice from your nutrition.

3. Moisturizers and creams: Pick the creams that are rich with vitamin E and Vitamin A. Do not choose the creams that have negative side-effects on your body.

4. Don't Eat for two: It is a myth that if you are pregnant then you have to eat for two. Pregnant women need to intake 500 calories more to nourish the baby. But make sure that these calories are coming from nutritious food and not from oily or fatty food.

5. Surgery: If you really want to get rid from the stretch marks, then surgery is also an option for you. Laser surgery not completely removes the stretch marks but it can fade the stretch marks. The one more option is "abdominoplasty". It removes the stretch marks and reduce the extra fat from your body, but is rather expensive.
