If you've never heard of a thrombosed or clotted hemorrhoid then you probably have no idea what causes it. The thrombosed or clotted hemorrhoid is a hemorrhoid that is clotted on the inside of the anal cavity. Although everybody usually, literally refers to it as a hemorrhoid it is often not said to be one until the conditions exist, because most people need for it to become visible either to the touch or to sight to consider it a problem. The irony is that it hurts but people don’t think about it till they have visual or kinesthetic proof.

When one is said to have a thrombosed or clotted hemorrhoid this is describing a condition where the veins are being strangled in the anal area, causing a sort of suffocation of the blood flow in that area. A thrombosed or clotted hemorrhoid can be treated through a series of things such as a warm bath, herbal supplements, and creams to name just a few.

When people say hemorrhoid they are usually referring to the symptoms and not the actual physical ailment. Although the thrombosed or clotted hemorrhoid is actually a physical thing in the body that becomes inflamed, swollen, choking the blood vessels attached to the anus that assist in helping one's bowel movement, the actual term hemorrhoid is describing the symptoms more than anything else.

If you find yourself afflicted with a thrombosed or clotted hemorrhoid, it's in your best interest to see your doctor as soon as possible for treatment and to make sure you don't have something more serious. Simply having a thrombosed or clotted hemorrhoid is no cause for alarm it is better to be safe than sorry not to mention seeing your doctor will help you figure out how to alleviate it before it gets worse.

One thing to think about is that a thrombosed or clotted hemorrhoid does not necessarily mean any surgery is needed but if left untreated it could get worse the point where it may eventually need surgery, so it's best to be sure and to see a doctor immediately to be safe.

Doctors have a lot of knowledge that many of us don’t have and may know where to look, can determine from your level or description of pain, and other factors we may not know to think about. Any time your dealing with a thrombosed or clotted hemorrhoid you should not take chances. The difference between needing surgery and finding a less invasive cure is catching it early!
